Scalp micropigmentation: my journey as a specialist for over 13 years

A passion born from personal experience

Hair loss is an ordeal experienced by millions of people, men and women alike. Behind it there is not only a physical change: there is often a loss of self-confidence, questions, and sometimes even a change in how you see yourself day to day.

It is a subject I know particularly well, because before becoming a scalp micropigmentation practitioner, I faced hair loss problems myself. This personal experience helped me understand the difficulties that people affected by alopecia can feel.

More than 13 years ago, I decided to train in scalp micropigmentation, a technique still little known in France at the time, but already recognised in some countries for its cosmetic effectiveness. My goal then was to master a method that could offer a real solution to people suffering from hair loss, while keeping a natural result.

My training in England with the pioneers of scalp micropigmentation

To learn this technique in the best possible conditions, I chose to go to England, to Birmingham, to be trained by the founders of the technique: HIS Clinic.

At that time, HIS Clinic was one of the world’s leading references in the field of scalp micropigmentation. Their expertise helped train many practitioners around the world and develop a professional approach to this method, which today is also called a hair tattoo.

My training lasted just over three months. It was a particularly intense period, because scalp micropigmentation is a technique that requires great precision, a lot of patience and an excellent understanding of scalp pigmentation.

Contrary to what some people might imagine, it is not simply a matter of applying pigments to the skin. Every treatment is different. You need to know how to analyse the shape of the face, the desired density, the skin colour and the type of hair loss, but also to understand each client’s expectations and emotions.

The first months therefore required a huge personal commitment. Mastering this technique takes many hours of practice to develop the hand movement, the precision and the ability to create a natural result.

I was lucky to be very well supported during this period and to work within an organisation that already had extensive experience in the field. Working alongside professionals who had already carried out many treatments allowed me to learn in ideal conditions.

Years of work to perfect my technique

After my training, I devoted a great deal of time to refining my skills. As in any artistic and technical profession, progress comes with practice, repetition and observation.

I worked tirelessly to improve every detail of my treatments. Day after day, I tried to understand what made the difference between simple pigmentation and genuine natural-looking scalp micropigmentation.

The result clients expect is very precise: it is not just about hiding hair loss, but about recreating a visual illusion that gives back the look of a shaved scalp or adds an impression of density.

This constant pursuit of quality has given me solid experience and an in-depth understanding of the different forms of alopecia.

My return to France: supporting people affected by alopecia with Sopigment.

When I came back to France, I was able to put the knowledge I had gained in England into practice to support people facing hair loss.

I quickly noticed one essential thing: alopecia does not only affect physical appearance. It can have a major impact on self-confidence, social relationships and how you see yourself.

Over the course of consultations, I discovered the personal stories behind every request for scalp micropigmentation for men or scalp micropigmentation for women.

Everyone arrives with their own story. Some clients have been living with progressive baldness for several years, others have had sudden hair loss, a medical procedure or hair loss that is hard to accept.

These human exchanges have always played an important part in my work. Scalp micropigmentation is not just a cosmetic treatment: it is a form of support that requires listening, understanding and real attention to each person’s expectations.

Scalp micropigmentation for men: a solution for hair loss

Most requests concern scalp micropigmentation for men, particularly for people affected by androgenetic alopecia, which is the most common cause of male hair loss.

For many men, hair loss can feel like a loss of identity or a change that is hard to accept. Scalp micropigmentation then offers a cosmetic alternative that helps them regain a more harmonious appearance.

Scalp micropigmentation for women: meeting specific needs

Contrary to popular belief, hair loss also affects many women. Scalp micropigmentation for women addresses different issues from those seen in men.

In women, loss of density is often diffuse and can be linked to various factors: hormonal changes, stress, heredity or other medical causes.

The aim is not usually to create a shaved look, but rather to give an illusion of density and make the scalp less visible.

Each treatment is therefore fully personalised to respect the nature of the hair, the usual hairstyle and the person’s expectations.

Scalp micropigmentation in Paris: expertise serving clients in France

Over the years, scalp micropigmentation in Paris has grown, and more and more people are now looking for professionals who specialise in this technique.

My journey with Sopigment has allowed me to bring to France expertise gained from the international pioneers of scalp micropigmentation, then developed through more than 13 years of practice with many clients.

For me, every appointment is an opportunity to understand the person’s story, their expectations and how they wish to regain their self-confidence.

A satisfaction that goes far beyond appearance

After all these years, what moves me most in my work is still the feedback from clients.

At Sopigment, we do not always immediately realise the impact my work can have on their daily lives. Yet when someone tells me that they feel better, that they have regained their confidence or that they like their new reflection in the mirror, it is a huge source of satisfaction.

The conversations with my clients have also helped me a lot personally. By discovering their journeys and their struggles with hair loss, I learnt to put my own experience into perspective.

I understood that each person experiences alopecia differently. Some see it as a simple physical change, while for others it is a real emotional ordeal.

It is precisely this human dimension that gives my work its full meaning.

More than 13 years after I started, the same passion

Today, I still practise scalp micropigmentation with the same desire: to help people who want to find a cosmetic solution to their hair loss.

Scalp micropigmentation has become a true specialism that calls for a combination of technical, artistic and human skills.

My journey, which began more than 13 years ago in England with the creators of this technique, has allowed me to build solid experience and an approach based above all on natural results and listening.

Whether it is for scalp micropigmentation for men, scalp micropigmentation for women, a need for added density or a hair tattoo effect, every project is unique.

My goal remains the same: to deliver a natural result and support each person through an important stage in their journey.
